It’s almost 9:00 AM here, sun is shining brightly(!), lots of activity out on the street. One of us woke up VERY early and finally woke the other at 8:30 with hot coffee in hand. One of us is sitting at the iPad posting an update while the other is in the shower. One of us is ready to roll. It always happens this way…first day in France I cannot wait to get out and about, get the feel of the town, go for a coffee and croissant…and in this case, a full breakfast. The last meal was tea on the plane sometime yesterday afternoon.
My flight landed at the Nice Aéroport in full blown thunder storm…we flew through the eye of the storm just above the water and the flight crew set that plane down ever so gently while being buffeted this way and that, powering up and powering down the engines. Jan was right outside the door of customs when I exited. Her flight arrived two hours before mine and there was no storm when she got here.
This is the view from Tim Smith’s writing desk…with apologies for the poor quality of the photo. But the sun is streaming in…and for those of you in a cold place, perhaps the effect will warm you up a bit.
We are off today to get SIM cards for our phones, grocery shop, and do a bit of exploring. And yet to come…a humorous recitation of the security checkpoints at London Heathrow Airport.
Have a wonderful time. Tell my sleepyhead to move it along. So glad I can vicariously enjoy your trip. Live to you both!

Well since you aren’t famous for being a morning person, I love the image of you pacing to get out and about. Now if I could just have one of those croissants!

Two mornings in a row I’ve been up very early…so out of character, I know.
Now resting with legs elevated after all day at market and cooking school.
